PUBLISHER FAQ

Analytics

How often are analytics updated?

Your analytics page is designed to provide real-time updates, though occasionally there may be a slight delay. If your analytics haven't refreshed for more than 24 hours, please contact us at mp.support@newsbreak.com.

Why are the analytics showing zero page views?

If your analytics have consistently displayed 0 page views for over 24 hours, it's likely an updating issue on our end. This doesn't necessarily imply that your articles aren't being distributed. However, we recommend contacting mp.support@newsbreak.com to report the issue as a potential bug.

How do I see revenue in the dashboard?

Currently, revenue information is not accessible through the portal. You will receive a monthly report showing your revenue and if you ever wish to inquire about your revenue at a different time, please feel free to contact your designated NewsBreak point of contact.

Publishing

Why are my stories not showing up on the website or in the app?

If the stories sent through your RSS feed are not displaying on NewsBreak or if you encounter other issues like missing images, it usually indicates a problem with your RSS feed. Please review the RSS feed specification attachment provided during onboarding to ensure your feed meets our requirements. If your RSS feed does meet our expectations and issues persist, please reach out to your NewsBreak point of contact.

Why is my story showing as "Failed"?

There could be many different reasons why your stories are showing up as failed in the portal. The most common reasons are violation of our community standards, non-English content, old news, excessive use of images, article is too long, timeout error. Please reach out to mp.support@newsbreak.com and someone from our team will look into your account.

What if I am only interested in referral traffic? What is the difference between referral traffic and publisher partnership?

If you're only interseted in receiving referral traffic from NewsBreak, then there is nothing you need to do. Your domain and website(s) may already be in our indexing database and your article headlines may be picked up from time to time by our platform to redirect users back to your sites. However, we do not guarantee any or continued level of referral traffic. And we do not have any programs or partnerships to promote referral traffic to publishers' sites. Our Revenue Share Partnership program, on the other hand, allows publishers to license and republish their full article content natively within the NewsBreak app in exchange for NewsBreak advertising revenue share. Content delivered via revenue share partnerships allows our users to click into and read the full article content entirely and directly within the app without having to be redirected out to third-party websites. By doing so, NewsBreak can place its own ads within publishers' content, for which publishers receive revenue share, and create a more consistent reading experience across the entire platform.

Account

How can I add other admins to my account?

Log in to your portal and click on your profile name in the top right corner. Navigate to "Profile Settings," where you'll find your account(s). Click on "Manage" for the relevant account and add the admin's email address. Finally, assign the added email address either an "Admin" role, providing the ability to add more admins, or a "User" role, limiting access to the account.

How do I change the email associated with the user account?

Unfortunately we are not able to change the user email address at this time.

Application

I have applied to become a publisher partner, when will I hear back?

You should expect a response from our team within 5 business days.

Why was my application rejected?

Common reasons applications aren't approved: 1) You are not a US based publisher and/or your content is not US focused. 2) Your website does not have an About Us page or sufficient information on your editorial staff. 3) Your content does not provide proper author bylines and/or image credits. 4) Your website contains mostly aggregated content from other sources and you do not have enough original content. 5) Your content does not meet our Community Guidelines, which can be found at https://publishers.newsbreak.com/legal#publisher-network-standards-and-guidelines.

Onboarding

When can I start delivering and onboarding my content to NewsBreak?

Once approved and after accepting our Terms of Service, you can create a publisher profile, upload your RSS feed(s), and our team will activate it. Your articles will then automatically republish on NewsBreak.

How do I deliver my content to NewsBreak?

Content must be delivered via RSS feed(s) containing full article text and image content. Article snippets are not permitted, and uploading any partial articles, or articles without images, may lead to your feed being paused or removed from the platform. You can find our RSS Feed Specs document in the publisher portal which further details our best practices.

What type of feeds are allowed?

Only full articles are allowed. If your RSS feed directs readers to your site instead, your account may be removed from the platform.

Are snippets allowed?

No, the full article text and image content is needed.

Payment

How will I receive payments?

Once you’ve submitted your company’s W9 and set up a payment account with Bill.com, we will deposit your revenue share payments directly into your bank account. Our payment terms are Net 60 days.
